STARTING POINT:

“The goldfish spins around in its bowl. He seems to be rediscovering the world at every turn. Google engineers have managed to calculate the maximum duration of his attention: 8 seconds. These same engineers evaluated the attention span of the millennial generation, the one who grew up with connected screens:
9 seconds.”

HOW TO GET QUALITY ANTENTION IN THE MEDIASPHERE ERA?

A WORLD OF OVERLOAD INFORMATION

Nowadays, the surface of our planet, seems to be completely covered by a thick, dense cloud of messages, sounds and images, circulating in many directions. We live in an era we can call  the “mediasphere” (the ecology of attention by Yves Sitton). The attention lengh of millennials is indeed shorter than that of their elders, with a strong tendency to zapping.

Attention becomes the most scarce resource. This is also the case of the fashion industry which already understands the needs, not only to think about the production of material goods, but more on the attention necessary to consume them.
Therefore, in this dense "mediasphere", I ask myself, how can Fashion-brands produce a form of communication which is more sustainable. We all know today about slow fashion.

But, can we imagine the slow-image of fashion?

VALUES FOR
SLOW IMAGE

Multiply the layers of revelation

An image with an abundance of details, hidden clues, or more elements revealed with time, will catch the attention for a longer time. The mystery is key, and the power of the observer is in its ability to discover the image.

Call for interaction

The audience is not just an observer, but is inside or even affecting the image in an immersive way.

Grant the time in waiting

Create anticipation. Build the story through steps. The image is a journey.

Release the
immobile

Breaking the boundaries of the still image and 2D. The images change through time and the experience is different on every visit.

Cherish the time of making

Just like craftsmanship in slow fashion. Elevate the process of making the image. Respecting the time for developing an idea and the time of its creative fulfillment

FOR MY PROJECT:

I WOULD LIKE TO CREATE FASHION IMAGES WHILE EXPANDING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE STILL AND IMMOBILE.

EACH CONCEPT WILL BE TRANSLATED INTO AN EDITORIAL AND
THEN EXPANDED INTO A REAL-LIFE EXPERIENCE IN A FORM OF AN EXHIBITION.
